Tips for AI compliance
The Artificial Intelligence Act (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act) introduces harmonised rules for the safe and transparent development, deployment and use of AI in the European Market for the first time. The new requirements present challenges for companies aiming to provide AI or AI-based products in the EU, whether they are based in the EU or not. Check if you are affected
The AI Act takes a risk-based approach and sets out different levels of requirements for various types of AI systems and models - including those provided by non-EU companies in the EU market. Deriving requirements
The AI Act focuses on providers and deployers of AI systems. Companies wishing to place AI or AI-based products or services in the EU must comply with the new obligations. New obligations also apply to importers and distributors. Providers of general-purpose AI must comply with additional requirements. Implement the AI Act
Due to the risk-based approach of the AI Act different obligations apply depending on the risk category. Strict requirements apply, for example, to high-risk AI systems, including obligations relating to risk management, data quality, transparency and human oversight. Individual transparency obligations apply to AI systems with limited risk. The supply chain is also becoming a focus of the AI Act.
Monitoring and reporting
Changes in the legal situation or in the development and use of AI systems can lead to changes in requirements. Therefore, companies must continuously monitor both the current legal situation and their AI systems or AI models and react to changes.
